Why Should You Repaint Your Interior?
Here are some of the main reasons homeowners want to repaint their homes
01
Tired of the current colors
If it's been years since you've painted your homes interior you may not love the colors on your walls as much as you did when you chose them. Maybe you chose the colors that were trendy at the time and are ready to get rid of them or maybe you've been looking on Pinterest and have a completely new idea in mind for your homes interior. We spend the majority of our time inside our homes so why wouldn't we want it to look exactly how we envision it. Repainting your interior lets you quickly turn your idea for your home into a reality.
03
Fading/ Cracking Paint
The interior of your home gets a lot of traffic from kids running around to pets scratching the trim there's a ton of reasons why the paint on your interior could get broken down over the years. Hallways are usually the areas that take the most wear and tear, take a look at your hallways and see if you notice any scratches, fading, or handprints on your walls. Take a look at your trim throughout your home is it chipping or cracking? Maybe the trim and walls in your kitchen look a little dirty or greasy from years of cooking. These are all signs that it may be time to get a fresh coat of paint on those areas.
02
Selling or just purchased the home
If you're thinking about selling your home or you just closed on your new home, painting your interior should definitely be on the top of your to do list. Painting before listing your home is a quick and easy way to get top dollar for your home, a lot of times the increase in value from painting your home pays for the painting project itself. You also have to keep in mind that while you may love your purple bedroom potential buyers may not, so going with neutral colors before selling is always good idea. Now if you just purchased a home we recommend painting it before you move in when it's completely empty. Not only is it cheaper to paint your home when we don't have to move any furniture or work in smaller sections but it's also ideal to get the painting done before moving in so you don't have to worry about it for another couple of years.
04
Getting ready for the holidays/ special events
The holidays are the most exciting times of the year for a lot of people, you get to host parties and spend time with the entire family. How much does it cost to paint my interior? The cost to paint your home varies based on a couple things. First, do you want to paint your walls, ceilings, and trim? Do you want walls and ceilings the same color? Are you wanting the entire house one color? Is all the trim in the house going the same color? Is the home going to be occupied or empty when getting your interior painted? We go over all of this with you when we go out for your estimate but you can start thinking about these questions to know exactly what you'd like to get done so we can provide you with an accurate estimate.

How long does it take to paint my interior? The amount of time to paint your home depends on what's getting painted, size of the home and difficulty of the project. If we're just painting an accent wall or one room that would only take a day but if we're going to paint the entire interior of your home it should take anywhere between 6-14 days. Also keep in mind that if the home is occupied while we are painting it is going to take a little longer than if it was empty because we would be working in smaller sections and moving furniture around.
-
Do you start painting my entire house on the first day?If we're painting your entire interior (trims, walls, ceilings) we'll take it by sections. You can choose which area of the home you want painted first and on the first day we'll start prepping everything, which includes covering flooring, removing outlets, removing blinds, masking off light fixtures, etc. So it's not until the second day that we might actually start painting your trim. Now if we're just painting walls and ceilings in one room then yes we will prep the room and paint it that same day.

How do I go about choosing colors and sheens for my interior? The majority of colors we paint are Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams colors so we always recommend homeowners to browse through their colors and see which ones they like the most. You can either look online, go to Spectrum Paint or Sherwin Williams to view the colors in person, or we also take a color booklet on our estimate so we can at least narrow down the group of colors you're interested in. After you've picked a couple colors you like we can make samples and actually paint a little section on the rooms you want painted, we do this because sometimes the lighting in the room affects the way the colors end up looking and we want to make sure you love the color before we paint the entire room. As far as sheens go most homeowners go with a eggshell on the walls, flat on the ceilings, and satin for their trim and doors, but if you're wanting different sheens we can 100% make it happen just tell us what you had in mind and we'll bring it to life!
